Textile Processing Enzyme for Cotton
In the textile mill, wet processing, or preparation, removes the natural and manmadeimpurities
from cotton yarn or fabric. The adequate removal, or scouring, of
impurities before dyeing, printing or finishing is essential in producing quality products,
since more than half the faults generated, such as streaking, color matching or
colorfastness, can be traced back to ineffective preparation.
Traditionally, cotton scouring has required the use of harsh alkaline chemicals (caustic),
extreme temperatures and large volumes of water. Expenses include not only the cost of
the caustic and energy, but also the cost of treating waste water to remove residual caustic
and by-products.
Today, textile producers have a new, effective alternative to chemical scouring with the
advent of the Cottonese CN enzyme. This novel enzyme not only cleans better than
chemical scouring, but also greatly reduces the need for extensive waste water treatment
and energy consumption. The Cottonese CN enzyme is a versatile, economically viable
and environmentally friendly alternative to chemical scouring in cotton preparation.

High Quality Fabric
Preserved fabric strength and weight.
Enzymatic Scouring process provides better treatment without aggressive change to the
underlying fabric fibers. This provides higher fabric strength and weight retention when
compared to traditional caustic scouring.
Reduce Process Loss.
Scouring with Cottonese BT CN results in exceptionally clean fabric including oil, wax and
hairiness. Due to gentle action Cottonese BT CN on the surface of the fabric, it retains
more natural structure than classic scouring process. It reduce the use of dye to achieve
desired color, or the same amount of dye to increase dye color intensity.

Consistent Fabric quality.
Cottonese BT CN gives reproducible fabric look and feel even under moderate variations
in processing pH, temperature, and time. This product can provide the process robustness
required to minimize time consuming and costly dyeing rework.
Fabric Appearance and feel.
This process imparts gorgeous look and very lofty hand-feel to the fabric.
The activity of the enzyme is expressed in Pectate Lyse Units (PLU) against an internal
standard to ensure lot-to-lot consistency. The enzyme activity value is not a measure for
performance. A detailed assay method is available upon request.
If necessary, Cottonese BT CN enzyme can be inactivated by increasing the pH to a pH >
9.0 and holding for 5 minutes. Soda ash (sodium carbonate), borax (sodium borate) or an
alkaline detergent are recommended for pH adjustment.
Cottonese BT CN enzyme is available in 29 kg pails, 220 kg drums and 1125 kg totes.
Cottonese BT CN enzyme can be stored at room temperature (up to 25°C) in a sealed
container. Reformulated products should also be packaged in sealed containers. Storage
and Stability information is available upon request.
Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with the skin or
eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information,
